Steve Gerring

Managing Director of UKHSE

As the Managing Director, Steve is responsible for the day-to-day management of UKHSE Limited. His past experience includes industry sectors such as warehousing & distribution, ship building & engineering and the construction industry. This provides a broad expanse of knowledge to call upon when assisting clients with their Health & Safety systems. On a regular basis he is involved in the delivery of solutions to meet clients’ needs, whether this is in ‘policy development’; CDM Co-coordinator services or the delivery of a ‘tailor-made’ training course. Meeting new and existing clients and networking with other businesses is another enjoyable aspect of the role.

Antony Boxall

H&S Consultant / Trainer

Antony joined the team in 2018 and brings with him over 15 years’ of practical experience in workplace health, safety, environmental and quality disciplines. Also, implementing and maintaining policies and procedures.

Antony has many qualifications, including the NEBOSH National General Certificate and has a passion for behavioural safety and enthusiasm to be field based. He still studies behavioural safety as he actively uses this approach.

Chris Goodman

H&S Consultant / Trainer

Chris joined UKHSE in March 2006. He has served in the Royal Navy Submarine Service for over 20 years and has travelled the world extensively. The last 10 years working in Australia, Canada and the USA in both a teaching and advisory role.


As a result of his most recent role within the Royal Navy in a ‘teaching’ capacity he has the proven ability to meet the needs of a wide range of audiences making him an ideal trainer.

Don Paige

Asbestos Surveyor

 In 2012 Don took the decision to train as an asbestos Surveyor where he worked on projects relating to everything from housing stock to large military establishments, industrial sites and commercial premises.

 Since then, having realised that he wished to pursue a career in Health and Safety he joined UKHSE in April 2016 gaining his FPA fire risk assessment qualification and also the CITB SMSTS Site Manager’s qualification.

 On a personal note, Don also spent 10 years with the RNLI as a volunteer crewman and after 5 years became a helmsman.

Graham Windram

Graham joined UKHSE in June 2015. Over the last 11 years he has worked for a premier national newspaper group, rising through the ranks to become the Head of department for Health, Safety, Occupational Health, Wellbeing and Environment. He has a track record that has in the past delivered 18001 and reduced sickness absence from 5 days to 3 days per person per annum

Lee Yardley

Lee joined us in December 2016. Over the last 30 years he has worked with in various sectors of industries and services. These include Engineering, Ambulance Service, Police and Overseas Aviation Security where he trained in Health and Safety and was the Safety advisor with G4s at Baghdad International Airport. He has also served as a backup medic in Kabul Afghanistan, with Global Strategies on a similar Aviation project. With extensive experience gathered whilst working within several industries Lee is ideally placed to provide advice and training to our many and varied clients.

Nicola Sullivan

Nicola joined UKHSE in September 2015. She brings with her a great sense of humour and enthusiasm for the role and is a tremendous asset to the team.

Her background has been within the media industry and most recently within the residential lettings / sales environment.

Nicola responds to customer enquiries and deals with course administration for UKHSE whilst also managing the back office systems.

Paul E Underhill

Paul joined UKHSE in April 2012 to assist with the delivery of food safety training and also to provide assistance with the delivery of our contract to conduct work experience risk assessments.
He has extensive experience of the hospitality and catering industry and is actively involved in the design and delivery of CIEH Food Safety training courses.


In addition he is an approved tutor for manual handling, coshh, risk assessment and HACCP.

Paul S Underhill

With extensive experience gathered whilst working within several industries Paul is ideally placed to provide advice and training to our many and varied clients.

Sian Betts

Sian is an experienced Health and Safety Professional with a proven track record of success in the public and private market sectors.

Previously Sian worked in the care sector having hands on and management experience, progressing to a lecturer in a further education college. Sian is able to train on specialised subjects such as Communication Skills including people with non-verbal needs; Adult Protection level 1- awareness and level 2- supervisor responsibilities; Conflict Management for people who work with the public and dealing with challenging behaviours from vulnerable individuals who may lack capacity; The Mental Capacity Act 2007 (level 1 awareness, level 2 for managers and level 3 the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards 2007).
